LJY: Really wonder how people got their licence, parking their car in this kinda way. Never even think of others la. So what if you are driving a BMW? In Singapore there are rules to follow OK? Please be more considerate la. Please don't be selfish.
PP: Many thanks to Subutex 2 for his many constructive, humorous and witty comments. I would try to implement them where feasible & possible & if time permits.

Measuring 503 centimeters, the 7series certainly isn't easy to park. More effort is needed to park a luxury car of this length than a Toyota Corolla Altis which measures 454 centimeters.

Hmm, I think the poster is not a car owner.
The parking lot is too small lah. Look at the 1st photo - even though the first car parked to the tip its back still protude. Since this 7 series beemer parked at the back of 1st car, definetely it would protude even more.
I think you should feedback to JTC to make the lot bigger rather than unjustifiably complain about this guy.
Btw, i drive Honda civic and often find that the parallel parking lots are just nice for the car. So no way this guy could park properly!
But of course he could have parked in normal lot if it was available.

Hi, to anonymous of Sunday, December 16, 2007 1:31:00 AM,
you ar enot wrong to say that parking this 5 meter giant is difficult. firatly, the standard car lot as required by URA, is prescirbed ( i think its 5m by 2m).

parking this 7-beemer with the 4 poles used during driving parking test is impossible, unless the car goes front n back many many times.

having said that, its not an excuse for not being able to park it to the best position. i.e. centre of front n back. but the photo showed little effoft in doing this.

URA/HDB could actually issie a fine for improper parking or using 2 lots (depriving others of the adjacent lot).
allit takes is the owner or its chauffeur, put in more effort. thats all.
For your info, i had actually wrote to ST Forum about 8 mths ago requesting for bigger lots. URA is the one who replied of its :INI:UM size prescription. But what happens is that developers / building owners always use this MINIMUM size as the size they construct, to give maximum numbers of lots is a carpark size. this makes money sense to them, but problems to car owners.

Hi to Morgan 23, Miss Demeanour and many more names I had forgotten, proponents of Parking Idiot website,
I am SUBUTEX, who used to publish my comment in the parking idiot site. But its now not moving, with the last posting on 12 Oct 2006. I had mixed-up my user ID and password, so I recreated my new nickname called SUBUTEX 2. anyway, i am now posted overseas. i hoped parking in singapore is improving in the last 7 months since I left.

One of the hottest posted comments was on the BLOG number 481. SDZ4994X (sep 2006) and th eever popular BLOG 411. SFY4998S (the black Beemer).
My nickname somehow appeared on the STATISTICs Update published by the administrator just below BLOG 466, but its no bid deal.
I do hoped to hear from all u folks, be it FOR or AGAINST. You have the right to comment. But of course, do not use obscene words.

So I hoped to see more comments and sotings in this site. Lets keep it alive and an avenue to advise Parking IDIOTS.

To Subutex 2: Keep your constructive comments coming.

To anonymous: JTC would only make the parking lots bigger for lorries and other big vehicles. i doubt they would enlarge parking lots for the sake of a couple of 7 Series BMWs.

Hi subutex & honda fit.

Like you guys, i don't condone any of the careless/idiot parking behaviour.
I have been incönvenienced by them time and again too. And i am glad that this website provides an avenue to fan the frustration.

But still, my take is we should not post for the sake of posting - at the end of the day this website will lose its meaning. And I totally disagree with poster's comment, especially on how the driver got the license.

By looking at the 2nd picture alone, i would say the beemer is quite selfish and should be fined. But since the 1st picture is available and clearly shows that the lot is way too small & the 2nd beemer did park quite close to the 1st beemer then IMHO we should not penalise the driver by posting here.
To further support the notion that the lot is too small- 7 series bmw is abt 503cm & we can clearly see the 1st beemer was already parked to the front line but its back still crossed over the white line quite a bit. This makes me think that the lot is shorter than 520cm.

Since both of you also acknowledge that for their own yield, carpark owner will not bother to increase the length to cater for this type of car. So my point is why we penalise the driver rather than the money minded carpark owner?

Happy Holidays to all readers!

To Anonymous: You're right. We shouldn't penalise the rich driver for driving a long luxury car. These photos highlight the fact some of the public parking lots, whether they are from JTC or HDB, are indeed not big enough for certain long luxury cars like the BMW 7 Series.

i think the photos highlight the fact that the parking lots are not long enough, more than the driver being inconsiderate for parking like that.

Hi to Honda Fit and the anonymous writer,
I concurred ur comments.
but in reality, there is nothing much the public could do. its the way the law is.
in the same token, i hoped the parking warden of HDB / URA will exercise discretion on these cases.

anyway, this site is for writers to let go "steam", constructive way or combination of sharp comments and emphathy notes.
it a "free to write" website and free to argue" website.

in case some of u may be wondering why on earth i am posting my comments in the wee hrs of the night and may badge me as a freak. i am actually about 10000 km away from Singapore on my overseas posting,, which is 7 hrs behind time zone.
its rae for someone to post commetns at 0300 hrs anyway.

welcome all ur inouts to make this site a lively one.

as to tne photographer / contributor, try to place the label "park properly". hopefully that will entice the vehicle owner to see his/her car in the web, read our comments and reply to the comments, now that will make it "hotter".
